For 2012 Laleham Archery Club is offering beginner training on each Wednes day commencing Wednesday 25th April 2012. for anyone between the ages of 8 to 80 and relatively fit and active. The programme consists of a maximum of six sessions (weather permitting!).  We are particularly seeking junior members.

The course fee is £35 per person and is payable with cash on the first day of training, (non-refundable and non-transferable); this fee covers:

   Coaching by the Club’s coaches/senior archers

   Equipment,

   G.N.A.S. Insurance cover

   Temporary membership of Staines and Laleham Sports Association.

The programme provides an introduction to the sport, covering safety aspects and getting beginners to the point where they can safely participate.

The course looks at:

   Safety and discipline

   Range control

   Shooting Technique - with and without bow sight

      Basic Archery Rules

On successful completion of the training programme, beginners who join the Club may shoot along with the seasoned members and start to hone their skills.

All successful beginners (i.e., those who can demonstrate the required level of competence) will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ from the Club, whether choosing to join Laleham Archery Club or not.

For beginners who do decide to join the Club, the coaches and seasoned archers are available to give advice regarding the purchase of equipment.  Please note that Club equipment is not available post-beginner training – new members must obtain their own personal equipment.

We will ask for a fitness declaration to be signed before commencement of the course, don’t worry we don’t ask for a medical.
