Laleham Archery Club holds Beginners courses for anyone between the ages of 8 to 80 who are relatively fit and active. The courses consist of six lessons held on weekday evenings during the summer (weather permitting!)
The course fee is £30 (non-
1. Coaching by the club’s G.N.A.S. Qualified Coaches
2. Use of all necessary equipment,
3. G.N.A.S. Insurance cover
4. Temporary membership of Staines and Laleham Sports and Leisure Club(SALSAL).
Where possible, courses are run over six consecutive (or longer if a holiday period is involved) Friday evenings or weekend, giving a quick introduction to the sport, which covers, safety aspects of the sport to getting beginners to the point where they can safely participate. This system keeps coaches available between beginner courses to assist archers as they improve and develop. However, it is sometimes possible to arrange alternative dates and times, based on regular club evenings or other times, for individuals (details upon application).

Friday night for Laleham Archery Club members is the main Club night, so although the introductory courses use separate targets under separate control, Beginners are free to meet other archers at Laleham and find out more about the sport.
It is the aim of the Coaches at Laleham Archery Club to get Beginners onto the Shooting Line shooting their first arrows safely within half an hour of the start of their first lesson so that they can begin to enjoy the sport of Archery straight away.

1. Health and Safety of archery
2. Range control
3. Shooting Technique -
4. Main elements of archery 'form'.
5. Basic Archery Rules

At the successful completion of the course all Beginners are awarded a signed ‘Certificate of Achievement’ from the Club, whether they then decide to join Laleham Archery Club or not.
If the Beginner does decide to take up Archery at Laleham Archery Club then the Coaches are available after the Beginners course to give advice when the novice archer buys their own equipment.
